It hangs like a painting and serves as soundproofing. Eighteen millimeters of PET felt absorbs what would otherwise bounce back.
Screw the mounting bracket to the wall so it's level, then hang the artwork in it. It will then hang flush against the wall, with no visible brackets.
A Acoustic wall art works exactly where you were already planning to put something on the wall—and ideally where sound reflects off concrete, stucco, glass, or drywall.
Popular locations:
• Living room: above the couch or next to the TV
• Dining area: where conversation at the table sounds louder than necessary
• Home office: behind or next to the desk, clearly audible during video calls
• Bedroom: above the bed, for a softer sound
• Hallway or staircase: where a hollow sound occurs
One piece creates a focal point. Two or three placed side by side transform an empty wall into a cohesive whole.
Available in 50 x 100 cm and 100 x 100 cm. Eighteen millimeters thick, consisting of two layers of 9-millimeter PET felt. The Z-profile is mounted on the back. For the 50 x 100 size, you can choose whether to hang the piece portrait or landscape; the 100 x 100 size is square and does not offer that choice.
NRC up to 0.6, as measured by TU Delft. The felt is most effective in the mid and high frequencies—the range in which voices and television sounds reverberate. Each painting complies with EN-13501, fire class B-s1, d0.
PET felt made from 40–60% recycled material, consisting of two 9-millimeter layers. The cut edge is open and does not fray. Handmade in our studio in the Netherlands.
Each painting is protected and flat-packed in recycled plastic. The PET felt, the plastic, and the box are all recyclable. Please allow 4–5 production days, plus the time required for shipping.
A painting made of 18 mm PET felt not only looks great on the wall, it also reduces reverberation . Porous felt absorbs sound where glass, concrete, and stucco reflect it. According to a study by TU Delft published in NRC, the reduction is up to 0.6 per painting.
To a Z-profile that’s already mounted on the back. You screw the counterpart onto the wall so it’s level and hang the artwork in it. That requires just one drill hole; after that, it hangs flush against the wall without any visible brackets.
The material. This work is 18 millimeters thick, consisting of two 9-millimeter layers of PET felt. A canvas stretched over a stretcher or a print on a panel reflects sound; porous felt absorbs it. The texture increases the surface area that the sound comes into contact with. The felt is made of 40–60% recycled PET.
You can hear the difference around the work area, but not throughout the entire room. The felt reduces the NRC to 0.6, as measured by TU Delft. That figure refers to mid and high frequencies: voices, television, cutlery clinking against plates. Low frequencies remain, and a painting won’t keep the neighbors away.
Any wall you can screw into: brick, concrete, drywall, or wood. Use the appropriate wall anchor for your wall. For drywall, we recommend a hollow-wall anchor.
You lift the painting out of the frame. Only the screw holes from the backing plate remain on the wall. You can always hang it in a different spot later.
Vacuum with a soft attachment, or wipe down with a wrung-out cloth. Do not use cleaning products with harsh ingredients; instead, use a mild soap solution.
Please allow 4–5 production days, plus the time required by the carrier. We create every piece in our workshop, so nothing is sitting on a shelf ready to go. You’ll be notified as soon as the piece leaves the workshop. The Z-profile will already be attached at that point.
Yes. Seven felt samples for €19.99, and we'll apply that amount to your order as soon as you place it. The samples show the color and texture of the felt, not the embossing of a specific piece; that varies by design.
Return it within 30 days. First, hang it for a few days in the spot where you want it, because evening light affects felt differently than daylight.
