We built this wall. You can knock it down.

In the " wall studio ," it's set up just as it hangs here. A different color for each panel, rotated 90 degrees, larger or smaller. Within a series, each panel fits together with every other one, so it's impossible to put them in the wrong order.

Three walls in this area

A rule of thumb in acoustics: 15 to 25 percent of your floor area should be covered with soft material. One panel measures 50 by 50 cm and covers 0.25 m².

The grid

Within a series, each panel fits onto any other panel, regardless of its orientation

Each line extends from the panel at 10-centimeter intervals, at fixed points along the edge. On all four sides, these points are spaced at equal intervals.

As a result, each panel in a series aligns with every other panel. Rotate one a quarter turn, or replace a panel later with a different color. When rotated, most of the lines continue across the seams; if everything is hung in the same orientation, about half of the lines end at a seam. The lines do not continue between two series; you place those side by side as separate sections.

About this wall

Er zijn muren waar je alleen langsloopt. De wand naast de trap, de doorgang naar de keuken. Juist daar werkt een patroon dat pas in beweging iets doet.

Eén vorm, acht keer, allemaal Maya II in beige.

Measured by TU Delft

Just how quiet will it really be?

Felt absorbs sound rather than reflecting it. For our 9-mm felt, we use an NRC value of up to 0.6, as measured by TU Delft.

Materials and Assembly

What You'll Get

9 mm PET felt, containing 40–60% recycled fibers. A soft material with an open structure that absorbs sound not only where the panels are installed but throughout the entire room.

  • Each panel measures 50 x 50 cm
  • Thickness: 9 mm
  • Approximately 400 grams per panel

The panels are self-adhesive. You can hang them without drilling or using any tools. Use a level to align the first row, and the rest will fall into place.

The self-adhesive layer adheres to any surface that has been previously treated with primer: wallpaper, stucco, drywall, and spackputz. If the surface has a coarse texture, it’s a good idea to check that it doesn’t protrude too much.

The panels comply with the EN-13501 fire class B-s1, d0 standard and can therefore be installed on both walls and ceilings. They work just as well in a home as they do in an office, restaurant, or waiting room.

The panels are individually wrapped in recycled plastic. The PET felt, the plastic, and the cardboard box can all be recycled again.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, you can vacuum the panels using a soft attachment or a wrung-out cloth. Do not use cleaning products with harsh ingredients; instead, use a mild soap solution.

The sound absorption coefficient reaches NRC 0.6, as measured by TU Delft.

The panels are self-adhesive. They can be installed without tools or drilling. We recommend using a level or a self-leveling spirit level.

The panels can be easily removed using a sticker remover. This will deactivate the adhesive layer. To reattach the panels, it is best to use high-tack adhesive.

No. You can carefully peel off the panels by hand or with a putty knife. In some cases, adhesive residue may remain, but you can remove it with sticker remover without causing any damage. This does depend on the condition of the wall.

NRC is a measure of sound absorption on a scale from 0 to 1. For our 9-mm felt, we use an NRC value of up to 0.6, as measured by TU Delft.

Yes. We ship from the Netherlands throughout the EU. Shipping is included on orders of €199 or more. Outside the EU, shipping is included on orders of €399 or more.

The self-adhesive layer can be applied to any surface, provided the wall has already been primed. It works well on wallpaper, stucco, drywall, and even spackputz. Just make sure that if the surface has a coarse texture, the adhesive doesn’t protrude too far, as this could affect adhesion to the surrounding surface.
